Film vs Digital | Amanda & Austin, in the park.

Film Photography is super trendy right now in the wedding photography world, and I’m here for it! It has been intimidating to learn, and a part of me felt like I was just jumping on the bandwagon of this, but I quickly put that out of my mind. There’s a reason it is becoming so popular, and that’s because it is so fun to shoot on, and the photos just hit differently than digital ones. There’s something about film that has really been speaking to me lately, and I’m trying to slowly learn and incorporate it into my wedding work. Mostly I’ve only used in while taking photos in my personal life, but with this fun little engagement shoot with Amanda & Austin, I brought my film cameras along! I took most of the photos digitally, with my Canon R6 (those photos are at the bottom). But I brought my 35 mmCanon AT-1 as well as my new medium format film camera, the Yashica C. It was so fun seeing the difference between the film and digital photos, and I’m obsessed with how this session turned out!
