A Big Sur Elopement | Suzanna & Alex

Alex and Suzanna wanted a day just to themselves and their parents, so they chose to elope. What they didn’t know is they’d spend 99% of it with us. Driving around, stopping for beers, telling life stories, talking about reality TV, and sending memes. Truly grateful that they chose us to capture their wedding weekend, and even more grateful we gained some friends.

Alex and Suzanna eloped in Big Sur and didn’t have anyone aside from their parents attend. They had their friends write them letters which they read the morning of their wedding. Such a powerful and sweet way to start off their wedding day.

We sat on the porch for 30 minutes and listened to their people write about how their relationship feels like “home”, how they’re some of the few people they can be themselves without “any fear or judgement”, how kind their souls are, and how they’re crafted for each other.

There’s a million ways to get married, all of them awesome. But these two, eloping in the redwoods - they did it right. They asked themselves, after starting the wedding planning process - what if we said screw it, and planned a day that is truly, just for us.
